Black trumpet, horn of plenty, or Craterellus cornucopioides describe a very small, dark-colored mushroom found on forest floors.
These little guys are hard to find, but very worth it. They are a choice edible rivaling chanterelles and morels in flavor, but their dark color makes them difficult to discern from the shady, sparsely covered dirt they grow on.
