Beingets are a French doughnut popular on New Orleans waterfront at the open air French Market. Here they are unfilled and served with mountains of powdered sugar and chicory coffee or café au lait.
Generally they are deep-friend choux paste. They may also be filled with meat, vegetables, or fruit.
These beingets were drawn on-location at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans.
