Cupuaçu Fruit

January 22, 2013

Cupuaçu is a relative of cacao.  Both fruits emerge from trunks and branches of their parent plants after their flowers’ pollination.

Cupuaçu fruit has a fleshier interior than the cacao’s.  Cupuaçu flesh is slightly sour and tastes of a pear-banana mix while smelling slightly of chocolate and pineapple.
