A banh mi a sandwich that resulted from the fusion of Vietnamese and French cuisine. The contained protein varies widely, but the vegetables do not stray far from cilantro, sliced cucumber, and pickled carrots (or daikon).
This particular banh mi came from Le Viet Cafe in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans. Specifically it is the combo banh mi which contains viet ham (cha lua) and roasted pork (sa sui).
