Chontaduros are also known as palm peaches.
There are two schools of thought when it comes to enjoying chontaduros: they can be served either sweet or savory. When served sweet–as is typical in Cali–they are accompanied by honey. Savory chontaduro dishes are seasoned with salt and any combination of pepper, onions, and chilies–as is typical in Latisia.
These chontaduros came from a street vendor on Calle 85 just north of the Zona Rosa in Bogotá.
