Pan con Jamon y Queso

October 3, 2013

Parque Tayrona is a huge nature preserve on the Caribbean coast in Colombia.  The park comes complete with beaches, mountians, forests, camping, and… a bakery?

The campsite of Don Pedro has a panaderia in the middle of the forest.  They produce five different kinds of bread, but the one illustrated here is the most hearty containing both ham and cheese in a tender roll.  All the other offerings were quite sweet containing things like bocadillo, dulce de leche, or chocolate.

Camp in the campsite for instant access to freshly baked bread upon rising, or the bread is resold at a number of nearby locations in the park.
