Granadillas split easily with pressure.  Their smooth skin provides a durable coating that breaks like a thick and fibrous egg shell.

Inside, the many seeds are surrounded by translucent edible flesh.  A gentle membrane holds the individual cells of flesh together allowing the entirety of the edible portion to be sucked out without the aid of a spoon. The taste is sweet and floral.
