A granadilla is the fruit of Passiflora ligularis. Also consider Passiflora edulis bearing the related passion fruit.
The physical arrangement of the seeds, the edible flesh, and the skin all resemble the passion fruit, though the color of the exterior varies markedly; rather than the deep purple color of the passion fruit, granadillas are bright yellow-orange.
