Small fingers serve as anchor points for the granadilla fruit inside its skin.
The skin is not peeled away from the fruit. Granadilla skin is slightly hard, and opening the fruit involves more of a crack and a tear. The individual cells of fruit remain inside the skin until they are pulled away from their anchor points.
