Roue de tracteur, discounting size, is an appropriately named pastry offering from Canadian chain Tim Hortons. Deeply groved, this sweet baked good takes on the appearance of a tractor tire. Its shaped is due to the braids of dough that produce the end shape upon frying. Tractor tires are glazed before serving and are best when fresh.
Elsewhere “tractor tires” may be known as “French crullers”, but since the pastry illustrated above came from a Tim Hortons location in bilingual Montreal, the latter name seems a bit inappropriate.
