La cerise or cherry is a small stone fruit prized for its flavor but reviled for the apparent evidence of glutony it leaves behind; each fruit possesses its single central pit–and often a formerly attached stem as illustrated here–that must be carried visibly until disposed of.
Right now this fruit is in full swing. In a week, they will have ended.
This cherry (and many others) came from a tree in Bures-sur-Yvette to the southwest of Paris.
