Macarons are a finicky morsel. Notoriously difficult to produce, macarons delight with their two almond flour meringue biscuits encasing a chilled buttercream filling.
Here, the flavor easily results with the addition of orange oil, but the color of macarons is almost always due to food coloring.
This macaron was drawn on-location at the Juan Pelota Cafe in downtown Austin, TX. While it was purchased, drawn, and consumed there, it was baked elsewhere. Its been said that whatever bakery produced these tiny miracles has since gone out of business.
But Juan Pelota still has the best WiFi in the city.
