Chinese plums are also known as loquats–perhaps more commonly.
In addition to finding use in jellies and jams, they’re also a super easy eat. Just pull them off the tree and pop them in your mouth. They’re a little furry and firm, but have a good taste.
Loquats are also unusual in that they flower in late fall to early winter, then produce fruit in the springtime.
